Vikram Announced Two New Social Projects | Karka Kasadara | Pachchai Puratchi

As the youth envoy of UN Habitat Vikram, held a press conference on Earth Day (April 22) and pledged to better the society and the environment. Vikram is doing a lot of humanitarian work through social activities of Vikram Foundation.

He has now announced two new social projects called 'Karka Kasadara' and 'Pachchai Puratchi'. The aim of Karka Kasadara is to identify school and college drop outs and help them to stand on their own legs.

The other social activity the star will be involving is Pachchai Puratchi which is about  planting as many trees as possible and make Chennai green.

Vikram also said as the youth envoy of the UN Habitat it gives him an opportunity to travel to a lot and help the poor and needy. His ultimate aim is to make the world a better place to live.

After a double role in '7 a.m', Suriya gets another exciting offer...

Everybody is looking forward to Suriya's double role in '7 a.m. Arivu'. Scheduled to hit the screens in June 2011, Suriya, we hear has managed to bag another biggie in the form of KV Anand's next movie.

KV Anand is basking in the glory of his recently released film 'Ko' that is doing extremely well at the box office. Anand and Suriya were a part of a success story – Ayaan – previously. Now they'll get together in 'Matraan'.

Not much is known about this motion picture. The female lead is yet to be cast, and actresses such as Kajal Aggarwal, Taapsee and Samantha are vying for the project, we hear.

Vijay's 'Velayudham' Complete Details | Updates | Release Date

Leading production house  Aascar Films and producer V Ravichandran has started the 'first look campaign' for his big budget Vijay entertainer Velayudham.

The mass entertainer is directed by M Raja and stars Vijay, Genelia, Hansika  and Saranya Mohan in pivotal roles and Santhanam, MS Bhaskar, Sathyan, Pandirajan, Sayaji Shinde and 14 villains mainly from Mumbai. The film has music by Vijay Antony and Priyan is the cameraman.

According to a press statement issued by Aascar Films: "80 per cent of the film is complete. Vijay plays a milkman in the film, with Saranya Mohan playing his sister. Genelia is a journalist and Hansika is Vijay's love interest. There are five songs and six deadly action scenes in the film choreographed by Anal Arasu."

Velayudham is likely to release around Vijay's birthday (June 22), and the film is one of the hottest in the trade.

Simbu’s Vaaam censored release on 29th!

STR's eagerly awaited Vaanam was censored today (April 24) morning, by the regional censor board in Chennai.
The film has been cleared with an 'UA' certificate, with voice muting. The censor board members who saw the film were all praise for Vaanam, as they liked it a lot. Says Simbu, who was present at the censoring: "Everybody who saw it, including lady members congratulated me for
doing the film."

Vaanam  is written and directed by Krish and a remake of his 2010 Telugu film Vedam. The film is a multi-starrer and has Silambarasan, Bharath, Anushka , Prakash Raj, Sonia Agarwal and Saranya.
It has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, while cinematography and editing are handled by Nirav Shah and Anthony respectively. The film produced by VTV Productions and Magic Box pictures is being marketed by Cloud
Nine.
Vaanam is now confirmed to release big on April 29, worldwide, says VTV Ganesh the producer of the film.

Rajinikanth wants a typical South Indian belle!

Deepika Padukone is considered one of the most beautiful women in this country but even her phenomenal looks are insufficient for a Superstar movie. The first schedule of Rana was supposed to begin but Rajinikanth felt that Deepika’s look was not satisfactory. He had a word with KS Ravikumar and expressed his concerns.

The film has a complex plot that supposedly covers three generations; therefore, the look and feel of the film has to be authentic. Rajinikanth felt that Deepika has to look like the typical South Indian belle with a simple yet radiant beauty. Her supermodel looks are not suitable for the character. The shooting has been delayed and will resume once the make-up department finalizes Deepika’s new look.

Nanban team spotted at Skywalk mall.

he third schedule for Nanban is proceeding at a brisk pace. Today the shoot was at Ampa Valley (Skywalk) Mall situated in Ponamallee High Road. Some scenes with Vijay and Ileana were shot. Vijay looked very youthful and handsome wearing cool blue jeans and a tee. Ileana looked lovely and was wearing a trendy outfit that showed off her curves to maximum advantage.

The shoot had to be held in the midst of tight security as a huge crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of the stars. Shankar was very strict and sent crew members around to issue instructions to the crowd. Onlookers were asked not to use their cameras or video recorders.

Vijay did the scenes like the consummate professional he is and took only three takes to perfect the shot. Ileana had a little more difficulty as she struggled with her Tamil but in the end, the director was satisfied.

Harris Jayaraj is almost finished with the music and the audio will be released soon.
